The Scene Of the Crime!

Charly and Araceli had a 40' state room on the train (half of the car) and shared the vestibule with us in an identical facility in a section snidely referred to as "Beverly Hills"
On long runs we often had parties leaving the doors open between, enabling us to host a lot of people but it wasn't as rowdy as some liked to think.
There was a standing joke that an Ambulance awaited to cart off the dead and wounded upon arrival, not so.
Being the Prussian General that he was, Charly ran his household with an iron fist and would come to me with complaints that my wife was a very bad influence on Araceli stating that when he had stepped into the shower that morning he had to stumble across a tray of dirty dishes and when he demanded an explanation she said "I started to wash then last night but Barbara said "Hide them in the shower and  wash them in the morning."
Charly was aghast at such defiance.

As I recall your compartment

was 2/3rds of the next car

The front 1/3rd was Bobby

Johnsen's who wasn't always

there as he traveled a lot

That vestibule & the steps

were on his car's front end

so if they ever uncoupled

between the cars there was

a hell of a drop to the

tracks out of your door
