#2 1940's K-M

When we came on the show in 1950 I was surprised to see that being a push-pole Big Top, the center poles were usually out of line, they remained wherever they unhooked the elephant.
Blues all the way around but there was a charge for the choice seating, "Soft Pine" Ira Watts would say.
Show was very efficient, I remember Ben Davenport came to visit and after the performance was chatting with D.R. in the Pie Car and said "Let's step outside and watch the tear down!"
Of course was stunned to see everything down and loaded and awaiting the 5 AM call.
