Chic. This was not taken in the Pie Car but in Long Beach, California in 1975 when Jim Parker was in the Navy and invited Gunther Gebel, Henry Shroer, Lou Jacobs, Rudi & I aboard the War ship to meet the Captain. We all were “whistled” on board and had a very interesting tour of the Ship. The Captain later came to the Circus and I have pictures of him with Bob Dover and one of our baby chimps. SUE.

Thanks Sue I could tell it wasn't
the pie car by the photo background
That doorway has a nautical look
I just used that expression but I
am happy to know the full story
Hope you are both doing well
Please send the photos to Buckles
Your story Sue reminds me of a
similar situation during 2 of
the years in San Juan working
for Jimmy Harrington when I had
become friends with an officer
on the cruise ship "Skyward"
We invited several of the ship's
officers to Circo Panamericano
& they in turn invited several
of our performers back to their
ship for the midnight buffet &
dancing in the nightclub as the
ship didn't leave until 3 AM
That Puerto Rico date was a real
pleasure for about 5 to 6 weeks
with only an 8 PM show 5 nights
then 2 & 8 Saturday but the real
killer was on Sunday with 3 shows
at 10:30 (bleary eyed) 2 & 7:30
