I first met Roger in 1963 when he was on King Bros. The June date on which I caught the show in Massachusetts had a church sponsor--seven people showed up! Had a wonderful time visiting (I wasn't much older then Roger, Jr.) and I remember Roger showing me a couple of albums of old tickets and passes he had just got from John Cloutman (who was ticket seller on Sells-Gray that same year). I was impressed at the time! He also sat down with me and gave me all the info on tent sizes, lengths of tent poles, truck consist, etc. I would see him on the Beatty show in later years and even stayed at there place in Macon when I used to drive to Sarasota for a week or so each winter. I remember he had quite a library of movie books.

Without realizing it I had
memorized his Side Show pitch
including "George Dickel the
Wonder Worker"
A favorite line of mine from Roger
after checking on a slight crowd
seated in the top for a matinee
"They better not start anything
cause we've got them outnumbered"
