I have also seen some pretty wild tattoos on people at WalMart and other places. I have seen people out in public that would have made up a good staff at a sideshow. Now it is a free show.
Betty Broadbent couldn't book a route these days.
"Lydia, the Tattooed Lady" was written in 1939 (Arlen and Harburg), so the pictured lady could well be the inspiration, if she was around before then.
Wikipedia doesn't mention her: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lydia_the_Tattooed_Lady
