Pat English- Beatty pupil in 1939-40.
LIFE Magazine featured this shot in a series of photos of Beatty with Ms. English. Of this era, Beatty wrote that he offered classes to aspiring cat trainers, and got a surprisingly large response. Once the attendees were assembled, he had them observe the feeding of the cats, who violently clawed their cut feeds into their cages, and tore into them with flashing fangs and ear-splitting roars. This thinned out the hopefuls rather quickly. Ms. English got some mileage from these photos, but further research doesn't have her following the steel arena as a career.
