LITTLE Bobby Cline. Remember him WELL!
Yes I remember Bobby with the Beatty Show for years. Comeon Pete.
Bobby came to Beatty-Cole with Steve Fanning from the Cristiani show when B-C bought the Norma Davenport five act in 1960.
I always felt his nickname, Paddlefoot Bobby, was an unfair put-down of a loyal veteran, who gave his heart to the elephants. Obviously, the man was disadvantaged, but he deserved honest respect, since it's men like Bobby who move the show.
I don't think the multitude of nicknames given to animal grooms were a put-down. Quite the opposite, they were quite proud and used the nickname so often themselves when introducing themselves or jarring a memory, that eventually it just stuck.
