It was late in 1977 and we were making preparations to take the Circus World elephants on the Blue show when I get a phone call from Irvin Feld saying a TV acquaintance had called saying he was on location in North Carolina filming a show that featured an elephant but the one they had hired wasn't working out. They were reduced to using rubber trunks and phoney feet and would RB have something that could bail tham out.
It turned out to be the Movin' On TV series so I sent Barbara, Ben and "Anna May" up there, as seen above with Keenan Wynn and when they returned my wife said it went so well the Producer asked if we might be interested in a series about "Anna May".
I said, "What! and give up Show Biz!.....and never regretted it.....after all it isn't often you get to put in a season with people like Back Door Jack and Camel John.
Not so with Mrs. Woodcock it remains a sore subject.
