This was the last Beatty cage, built new under his instructions, in DeLand, in 1960. I worked in this cage for two years, and had visions of Mr. Beatty every time I entered through his door. What we see here is the results of the dismantling and what I call bastardization of the cage by Hubert Castle, in his ill-conceived decision to build a cat act around Red Hartman. The cage went to TZ Productions when Castle sold out. The last I heard, it is laying neglected on a concrete slab, under the ownership of the Felds.
