Yes, Larry, these are the cage trucks Beatty used from 1940 thru 1945. First used on Hamid-Morton-Beatty (Wallace show leased by George Hamid) in 1940. They were extensively remodeled before his Johnny J Jones tours in 1941-42. He had them on Beatty- Wallace in 1943 where I first saw him, also on Concello's Beatty-Russell in 1944 and then on his own Clyde Beatty Circus (former Wallace Bros) in 1945. He sold his 1945 show to Floyd King. One of these ended up on Mills Bros.
The spotting arrangements of these trucks had to be laid out for animal tunneling. Note how one end has to be placed so that these cats can be driven through to the next truck. Knowing there were 4 cage trucks, all needing this specific parking set-up, you can get some idea of the grief presented on bad lots.

Cat transportation?
Very nicely customized rigs
Makes me wonder just how many
show titles had Beatty featured
long enough to include him in
the rolling stock paint scheme
