Willy Storey, Johnny Pugh, Jerry Collins, Tim Stinson. This may have been at the big party Collins threw in Pittsburg, during the 1980 Winter Tour of buildings. We opened in Ft. Myers, then jumped 1,317 miles into Pittsburg. When Stinson did well promoting a town, Collins called him "Timmy". When he dogged one, he was "this Ringling boy." These exuberant smiles vanished early on, as the magnificent show we fielded outnumbered the audience from the beginning. The last town was Winston-Salem, which demanded $50K a day for the building, and Collins said, "Bring that son-of-a-bitch home." Thus began the long, frozen winter in DeLand.
I remember Johnny and Bridgette telling me about Stinson as he was not well liked what he did to Beatty cole running it in the ground. She said please do not put his name in Circus Report when I wrote my Beatty Cole story. When the show got down my way they date and dated the Bill Hames show carnival in the area and was the second largest fair in Texas and Harry Hammond told me they did not even make the media money back. Jerry Collins was there and I sat by him in the seats and he autographed mu BC program but I knew something was up and it sure was. The circus was given to FSU. Harry in Texas
