In the mid 70's when I assisted Herta and John with the act the props were painted red to match their red "Cossack" costumes, and Daisy rode a mini bike along with Teddy on the vintage Indian motorcycle. There are a large number of motorcycle aficionados in the Richmond, Ill. area and periodically over the years a number of them would stop at quarters to look at the classic ride with the custom bear handlebars. As Jim said, one of the greatest animal act's I have ever seen. Added with Herta's gymnastic cart wheels, hand walks, etc. it was indeed a "one and only." With John's "assistance" you can not begin to imagine the drama involved each ad every performance. :) A wonderful lady well deserving of all that she has and will have.
