 We were with James Christy Circus at the time and she would simply be picked up and carried around the ring but her long hair would sometimes drag in the weeds. So we had "Anna May" step up on the tub with her front feet then turn and it eventually evolved into this. |

Jeez, more elephant men featured in this set, then elephants currently performing. How can you not see the insanity and irony in that scenario. I sure understand better how a buggy maker must have felt upon the arrival of the first car.......

Incredibly, amazingly, remarkably, and at my age appreciatively well. You would like to hope and dream it would last forever, but................. Two months ago a fellow animal trainer emailed me from Germany stating, "you are lucky because I believe China and Russia will be the last strong hold's for trained animals. Exactly on month after receiving her email, all orangutans, chimpanzees, baboons and bears were pulled out of the new Ocean Park Circus and where I am at, at the sister park, orangutans and bears were pulled out of the Safari shows. I fear in a few years, Russia may be the only one manning the guns at the Alamo. They just imported 22 African elephants for the new Safari opening next year, and had an Asian calf born last month at our park(in addition to the worlds only surviving triplet panda cubs whom celebrated their first birthday last week), so the good fight hasn't finished yet. I feel blessed each day I am able to place my hands on an animal and walk in their shit.
