I believe it was the book on the Sullivan show, A THOUSAND SUNDAYS, in which an interviewee told this story: (I'm paraphrasing, but...) "During Beatty's big cat fight, the cats crapped all over the damn stage, and the next act was a ballet duo. The stage hands had no time to clean up the manure piles, and these poor kids had to slip and stumble around in it, doing what they could to stay on their feet." One wonders if Eddie bought them new toe-shoes.
Yuk, what a sobering end to that story, ew, but what a story for the toe dancers.
