Anna May

Saw Anna May Wong on TV last night in the "Orient Express" an actress my father described as having hair "the color of the raven's wing!"
He even went so far as to name two elephants after her.

IMDb features 2 excellent bios for Ms. Wong, detailing her long, often tragic efforts to establish a career, when roles for Chinese characters were routinely cast with Caucasian actresses in "yellow face." She never married, and died of a massive heart attack at only 56. There is also good history for her under her stage name at Find-A-Grave. She is buried in Angelus Cemetery, in Los Angeles, under her Chinese birth name.
