Nor do I recall a Nellie in 1975 when I picked up Obert, Kelly, and Tracy and took them to I tried to post this in response to Radar's question about "Nellie", but it wouldn't post so will try here. I don't recall a "Nellie" on the show in 1975 when I picked up Obert, Kelly, and Tracy and took them to Denver for Clyde Bros. and Alta, Viola, Margaret, lilly, and Isla later in the year and headed to Mexico City for Frank Browne Atayde Bros., first stopping in Hugo where Isla and Lilly said "nix on Mexico City, hombre." Exciting time to be 21 years old. Largest group of baby elephants I have ever seen, before or since. Each with their name stenciled on their forehead(as Dennis said) and dragging a front leg chain. Last words of wisdom from Okie Carr as we loaded the Mexico City 5, "just take the chain off the picket line, and throw it over their neck to do the act." With their headpieces of two inch washers connected by a chain link, and their tubs which were recycled manhole drain traps they sounded like King Arthur and his armor wearing knights riding into Camelot.
