And in conclusion......

.....if someone had told me back then that within my life time there would be no more elephants I would have said "Impossible!"

Buckles,
We can thank that damn peta with all here poison pen letters to every town a circus plays with animals and elephants.
But we still have Carson and Barnes and Cole Bros with elephants.
Barbara Byrd says she has no plans of giving up her elephants.

As I have posted elsewhere: I read recently that someone has predicted that in 100 years or so the human race would be extinct. Serves us right. No elephants?!? BAH HUMBUG!!! "Damn everything but the Circus" !

There are many things that are happening today to our society and our culture that, a few years ago, everyone would have said would be “impossible.”

And have taken our "History" from our children's and grandchildren's school books, Christmas from our communities, the Ten Commandments from our local court houses, supreme court justices rewriting the laws, and even to the removing of t.v. programs (duke's of hazzard). Kind of like present day book burning???

I had asked my grandparnets how the German people allowed their goverment to be taken over in the 1930's.

Will our great grandchildren be asking the same questions about us??
