I always respected Frankie Saluto's very complicated makeup. Frankie was achondroplasic, the malady of some little people making them misshapen. For some, whose arms are very short and knotty, getting made up presents a challenge. Frankie overcame any obstacle, and accomplished this classic whiteface un-assisted. I last visited Frankie in the Circus Lounge, in Venice. The Felds had let him go. He died soon after, at 75.
