DeMille narrated and starred in the main trailer for his GSOE. He filmed many of the clowns and named them all, as you can see on YouTube. Highly featured was Lou Jacobs, and this is where the world first heard Ernie Burch called "Blinko". But this set ran in a magazine, which may have been a Sunday supplement, like PARADE. I found these in our vertical file in my long-vanished junior high school, but the original source had not remained. Someone may have the full set.
These photos are from the July 11, 1949 issue of Life Magazine. You can see the entire set online at: https://books.google.com/books?id=3FEEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA66&lpg=PA66&dq=eddie+buresh+clown&source=bl&ots=kic-jO9M7n&sig=WFP8rDS-lKmigbIGplpf2L4J-KI&hl=en&sa=X&ei=a_V2VYbRG9jioAT2_4HIAw&ved=0CCUQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=eddie%20buresh%20clown&f=false
It also names all the clowns shown!

I recalled it was some magazine, but not that it was LIFE. Thanks, SANDY. But I'll never figure out how to navigate a subject line like this.
