.....because in 1968 when we were out in California with James Bros. this gentleman walks up looking for William Woodcock saying he had seen  the name in the show's advertisement. Turned to be my father's brother Clarence Messer, parted in infancy. He said he knew his brother trained elephants with a circus, even inquired at the nearby Al G. Barnes Winter Quarters, all the elephant guys knew him but that's as far as it ever got. I can see the similarity.
