I am no elephant expert for sure but Black Diamonds tusks were cut off on the ends and not pointed like this picture.
Harry in Texas
You beat me to it Harry.
Black Diamond's skull was taken to the Houston Museum of Natural History were it was in the basement for years.
Carmack Watkins had seen the killing of Eva Donohoo in Corsicana as a boy. (She had been an editor at "The Houston Post" before she retired and moved to the Corsicana area were she had hired Prickett to work for her. I have often wondered if her ties to the Houston newspaper had anything to do with what John Ringling did with Black Diamond).
Watkins later got Navarro College to help have the skull moved to his personal museum back in Corsicana. ( thinking this was in the mid 90's). Watkins has been in oil & gas and had built the "Watkins Wildlife Trophy Room" which is located in the main building of the Watkins Construction Company.
Harry is correct that Black Diamond's tusks had been sawed off.
