From Buckles #7

My father said "Diamond" was no problem at all, after walking overnight from town to town he was only interested in finding a place to lie down and take a nap when he reached the lot.
He added that he only did a few tricks and most of the act was his speech describing his background and dimensions.
He even credited  himself with adding "Black" to his name after a popular dime novel of the day.
The act was concluded when "Diamond" would stretch out and they invited as many gentlemen from the audience as would fit  to ride him,  then he would arise and go into a three-legged skip where upon you could see about a foot of daylight beneath their asses with each lurch before slamming down.
Audience would go into hysterics.....what a way to close a show!
