Early 1950's K-M #16

Show worked seven days a week, this is Rex Williams' younger brother George pulling stakes with "Tena" after a Sunday matinee only.
I remember some time later my father receiving a letter from him asking  for a recomendation as his last employer to enlist in the Air Force from which entered and made a career of.

I agree with everyone else's enjoyment of these nice photos and your accompanying narrative. I always thought this was a nicely painted and lettered show in the early 1950s. WHO did the painting ?
By the time it came east to where I lived, about 1964, it was big but not so good looking. This was about the time of the DR's disastrous boat circus and IRS problems. It wasn't too long before he was at the helm of Carson & Barnes. Too bad they didn't do the nice lettering of the earlier years; red and white vertical strips just didn't do it for me!
Keep up the good work as the morning sunrise (not that I'm up then) means Buckles blog!
