I find your photos and narrative (when included--you're a man of too few words!) describing the training of the tricks especially fascinating. I am so glad you (or is Shannon or Dalilah behind the camera?) took pictures over the years of such events. So, as Paul asked, how does an elephant know just how to hold and how much pressure to use? Is it all with the tongue area or is it at all near the teeth?
As you know, elephants don't have front teeth, just molars on each side so the knee is actually gripped by the roof of the mouth and lower lip. I never cared for the head carry, it came across to me as a person with a head so hard not even an elephant could crush it!
Dick, head carry, I may be a bit crazy, but I'm not insane. Diane did not consider a leg carry, but she did take a good photo on the trunk, with great thanks to you know who.
Buckles, many thanks. It makes sense when I think of it now. Must be one dang strong lower lip.

Always wanted to try this, wondered how it felt and always amazed that the big lady knew just how hard to "hold".

Paul, held by the leg is for showgirls (did Diane want to do this?). Men generally do the head carry! Still want to do it?
