To Brandon Morris

In short "Lydia" could be a pain in the ass.
Fight with other elephants when possible.
Good mount elephant tho, she used to toss my wife up to her back without breaking stride then scramble up on this merry go round.
Last time I checked out in the barn all those headpieces had rotted away.

At one point "Lydia" was a better mount elephant than "Anna May". I am sure I have told this story before, but here goes again. When we would lay off for awhile, I could not practice in the barn because of my allergies. So some of the muscles were not there. And "Lydia" would reach around with her trunk and push me up on her leg for the three legged hippity hop. Then later when I would get my strength back she would no longer do that. I thought that was pretty neat. And on the merry-go-round I would get on the tub, jump onto her trunk, then hold sideways, as she mounted the merry-go-round, she threw me up onto her back in one motion. I would land standing. It was like a one two and I was there. She did it all. Not one picture or video of this. A SHAME. It was one of the hardest mounts I did. Most people would have just rode it up, the easy way. But I didn't like easy. A LOST ART. WHAT A SHAME....Barbara...
