My favorite & long lasting vision
from Thailand was in an elephant
camp in the hills above Chiang
Mai (where Ray MacMahon spends
half of each year) where a tiny
old lady tourist had a stalk of
tiny bananas & was tearing them
off 1 at a time for a very big
& very patient ivoried male who
was obviosly well trained to be
around such idiots
Another wonder was in the Dusit
Zoo in Bangkok where the Kings
elephants (at their pleasure)
are kept in an elegant temple
like structure that is open on
all sides where they can march
out on their own set schedule
down a public path to the lake
They then can enjoy some water
sports before returning unaided
back to their comfortable house
Quite a sight to behold
I have lived in Chiang Mai for the past 2 years.
Not uncommon to see elephants walking on the side of a busy road with mahut firmly on its head.
Are you working there Dennis
or is this your retirement home
Is the bottle walk bridge in your
photo Dennis a redo of the one I
designed & built for Charly or a
similar copy of it
Chic
I'm retired. Thailand has no Winters. Nuff said ?
The bottle walk was built in Hugo. Built to last on a mud show. When I started presenting the show cats I could barely lift it.
