At the Chicago date, the show's McCormick Steele, a Republican, was on the front gate. He was wearing a "Wendell Willkie for President" button. One of Chicago Mayor Kelly's democrat henchmen was on the lot as was one or more of them every day (to make sure they got their "share"). He took one look at the Wilkie button and ordered the show off the lot unless the offending propaganda was not removed immediately.
