Big Ruth #2

"Big Ruth" flanked by "Black Diamond" and "Tusko" under the direction of J.O. "Sippi" Nance 1928 or '29 on the Washington & Hill lot in LA. "Ruth" was never a big elephant but I was often told that most other elephants were afraid of her and even heard of one being broad-sided and lifted completely off the ground. Possibly it came from these days with the Barnes Show when encouraged to give these guys a shot if they got out of line.
