Early in our marriage we worked the Texas dates in a display with Al and the Hamid-Morton elephants and this leg-carry pretty much took the thunder out of the cute little tricks my folks had presented so afterward it only took "Anna May" day or so to pick it up but we decided to raise it up on a tub for a better effect.
I think this girls name was Shirley?
My wife would know.
Shirley Peterson I think you are talking about on the Tex. Dates. BUT THAT IS MY DEAR FRIEND "LINDA WILSON HERMAN". If I am not mistaken. I liked Shirley very much also. Linda filled in for me, in the act when the stage broke in Houston, Tex. with Anna May and I. And she did a darn good job of it. And Buckles Anna May had the leg carry in thirty minutes, as she already carried objects in her mouth. I got a bit of a bruise teaching her how tight to hold it. But not bad. We didn't add the tub until later. And that was out of necessity, as my hair drug on the ground. So we did it for a short time with just her front feet on the tub as she turned. One day we both came up with the idea of how would it be if she would do a hind leg stand up on the tub with me in her mouth. We tried it once and put it in the show that day. Anna May was so great all you had to do was just talk it over with her and she did it. LOL....Barbara....
Good thing the 2 of you were fast
learners to keep up with her
Wonderful, you folks, Anna May,Vidbels the photo !!
Chic you might be kidding. But when it came to the "Barber Shop Act" we would have to lay the razor or the brush for the lather, down to see what she would do with it. For we would forget just which way to set it. And if we set say the razor down for the brush, she would strap the brush, instead of dipping it in the bucket of suds. Buckles father trained all of this. And these trunk tricks were much harder to train than say a sit up or even a pyramid. I am not kidding. Buckle would often say he wished he had paid more attention. It was the same thing with the Dinner Table.....Barbara....(And it was something to keep up with her.)
What made you think I was kidding
(love you)
