CARNIVAL AT THE
ZOO
also has footage of the St. Louis Zoo’s elephant act, but that’s something best
left for a future posting. In 1952, Castle
Films also released CIRCUS AT THE ZOO, which showcases the
St. Louis Zoo’s chimp act. Both of these titles might be available
for on-line viewing at You-Tube.
If not, hundreds of 8mm and 16mm prints of both of these titles are still
around and turn up on eBay on a regular basis.

If I have a single point of departure from Jacot's working choices, it is pedestals with solid panels. It was pointed out to me early on that it is far too easy for animals to hide behind them with evil intent.
ERIC: Thanks again for posting these hard-to-find images. You're right--there is some footage of Jacot on YouTube, titled "8mm Movie Time - St. Louis Zoo - 6-16-65". This color footage runs 4:18, with less than 2 minutes on Jacot's cat act. The sound of the amateur's camera itself is grating. There are several listings from St. Louis acts as you scroll YouTube, but they're among mixed films of other zoos.
