Hello Buckles,
I need help trying to track down an image of a vintage clown, and I can't remember his name. the photo is sepia tone, he's extremely wrinkled, smiling big and it's a 3/4 view. I doubt you can really conjure it up, but maybe. (He was an actual clown from a circus ... I hate my terrible recall)
Pretty vague description.
All the clowns I know today are somewhat wrinkly.
Someone did a sketch of him at

:D does that help?
Yeah ... lots of wrinkled clowns, like camel knees.
It appears that the lowest Front chain wraps around the trunk. Is there a purpose for this? Could this be the reason for the rings on the headpieces Trolle Rhodin obtained for Ringling?
Our old head pieces were falling apart and I threw these together until I could get a new set made.
.....but don't get my wife started on that, very difficult to get a quick grip and sometimes even harder to get free.
The chain head pieces were pure ....Hell. After you got your hand under the chain, the bulls stood up or what ever. And then it was impossible to get it back.... under the chain....or couldn't get your hand out from under it......BUT THE WORST WAS WHEN YOU SET OR ROLLED ACROSS THE HEADPIECE.....making a mount. You were a.....MASS...of bruises. I mean....BLACK AND BLUE....TOTALLY....The first time "Gee Gee" saw me after "Buckles and I got married "Gee Gee" said to me, "MY GOD BARBARA DOES HE BEAT YOU???? I said "NO IT IS THE DAM HEADPIECES."....Then I ask her to help me put make up on the bruises all up and down my legs and rear. Needless to say we got rid of those headpieces, and went back to the old "Woodcock" headpieces. "Thank God". When we were breaking the mounts "Col" and "Buckles" hung on and took their turns helping breaking the mounts. Not like when I was with "Rex". It was always just me. I would be raw, my hands, elbows, knees, etc. But "Col" & "Buckles" took their turns. I had never seen that. Sure was a relief. Sometimes it is like breaking a bronc horse.....Barbara.....
