Head Pieces #1 (To Brandon Morris)

If I'm not mistaken Trolle Rhodin had these head pieces made for the show in Germany and were a vast improvement.
You may notice they have  small rings on each side of the medallion at the very bottom, I suppose commonly used in Europe as bits to keep them in place but I'm not aware of them ever being used for any purpose over here.

Among many other "improvements"

are the "modernized" globes used

in the new headpieces instead of

these original "TGSOE" globes

Yet more & more tradition lost

There is an OLD theater saying

about removing "improvements"

Dumb question: is there any purpose for a headpiece other than decorative and for something to grab onto when mounting? How much would the headpiece interfere with the way elephants were ridden years back, with one's feet on the forehead?
