This is Birmingham, AL on Saturday, October 17, 1934. Note the Alabama Motor Inn on the right.
The elephants are on 5th Ave. N. having turned into it from 19th St.
The imposing white building in the upper background is the Federal Building and US Court House. I've been there.
It would take careful handling by Supt. Cheerful Gardner to keep such a long, single line of elephants under control. He did not double them up as RB and B&B did when they paraded back in the day.
CORRECTIONs - - OOPS - - No,it is Wednesday, October 17, 1934 - -not Saturday
Further the parade is not entering 5th Ave N from 19th. It has just passed the court house on 5th. Note the open space in the roadway in front of the court house.
That is the Two Jesters steam calliope bring up the end.

Sinclair "A Great Name in Oil"
Founded by Harry F. Sinclair
in 1916 & in 1926 Sinclair Oil
introduced its new high octane
gasoline H-C Houston Concentrate
So this must be after 1926

Thanks for the correction Dick
I would have gotten it wrong on
next week's quiz
I've shared many a brown ale with Richard and never heard him called "Dick."
My apologies for the informal
greeting & I guess I owe both of
you a few rounds of brown ale
No disrespect intended
Many years back there was a chain
of terrific sausage shops in NY
titled "Zum Zum" & they had the
best brown ale on tap as I recall
