Obert Miller #5

"Hattie" was their first elephant, I remember D.R. telling my father about Obert and his two sons driving an empty elephant truck from Oklahoma to California and on their arrival seeing 20 huge former Ringling and Corp. elephants that looked to them as tho any one might kill you on a moments notice. Cheerful Gardner showed them around and picked out old "Hattie" assuring them she would be no trouble. D.R. added that he was right and they always held him in high regard but had they been a little wiser would have picked out a younger animal.
