Babe's Scrap Books #3

Powers Elephants "Jennie", "Julia", "Roxie" and "Lena".

They sure did a lot of stuff, "Base Ball", "War Games", "Barber Shop", "Dance Numbers".
My father once told me that he and Highpockets worked briefly as grooms for this act that included a tropical scene with Mrs. Powers reclining in a hammock with one elephant gently pushing her back and forth while a second slowly wafted a feathered fan.

The GREAT Grandson of the Powers is a Unit Manager for Wade Shows Carnival.
His name is Jim Danton. His Mother was Powers Granddaughter and she did a single trap act in the 1950's on the Fair Circuit were she met Jim's father on the Happyland Shows in Mich., and they were eventually married and had two daughters(both deceasted) and one son, Jim.

Jack Benny more than once fondly mentions Powers Elephants over the course of his radio shows, in one episode so does Bob Hope.
