"Sidney" #7

Bill Woodcock working "Mary", "Sidney" and "Anna May" (our Anna May's namesake) with Hamid-Morton in 1943, still hobbled, they must have been pretty flighty at this stage.
The elephant Empress is Harriett Beatty's sister Jean Evans, not to be confused with Jean Allen.

Jean and her sister Harriett, later Mrs. Clyde Beatty, were Chicago girls whose family name is Iwicki, the Polish equivalent for Evans. There are glamour shots of Jean as a stunningly beautiful brunette, from which I hold her equal to Hedy Lamarr. She made her name as an accomplished performer, excelling with her heel-and-toe single trap, and effective as an elephant empress. She later fell into tragic circumstances, and died a sad and lonely death.
