Is that the Unimicef being immortalized?
By any other name it's still just
a long haired mutilated goat but
got more publicity than expected
(I think there were 3 of them)
The very pretty showgirl that was
the goat's escort had been Louis
"Losito" Garcia's skating partner
This is 1 of the newer tugs that
were more robust than before but
the best units were the Mercedes
Unimugs from Germany
Berlin & Jones is listed as being
located in East Rutherford NJ
I've been corrected (again) the
right name is UNIMOG (not Unimug)
The name Unimog is pronounced [ˈuːnɪmɔk] in German and is an acronym for the German "UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät", Gerät being the German word for machine or device.
I had to look it up
I believe there were three of them and they were kept on a farm up near Baraboo, WI.
Circus World Museum even presented one of them after the initial RBBB tours were over.
Bob
Thanks Bob as verification is a
comfort on old trivial beliefs
By the way it seems that Unimogs
are still in production in many
versions & utilizations including
a model that can be rail power
I'll gather up a collection &
send it to the Brigadier
They should have named at least
1 of them "Scapegoat"
