Eddie Allen #10

Eddie Allen left the Ringling Show early in 1944 and remarkably become Gene Autry's Business Manager. About 20 years later Barbara and I were invited to Parly and Ernestine Baer's place one afternoon and to my delight Eddie Allen was among the guests. I thought he could fill in a few blanks on my Cole Show elephant lists but to my disappointment he recalled very little of those days. By this time he was a big man in Movie Labor Unions and he and Parley regaled us with backstage movie stories. One included a popular singer of the day who had recently wranged up on the set and Eddie decided shut everything down. For the life of me I can't remember his name, his father had also been a singer in 1930's movies.
