This looks like the photo that was taken on the Sun Bros. Circus. This calliope is also listed in the 1900 John Robinson Route Book.

That's a large pressure guage

mounted to the right of the cone

of the steam boiler stack so it

can be read from a distance

Exceeding the safe pressure limit

can be an extreme hazard (& it's

also very dangerous as well)

Con Edison in NY still provides

steam throughout much of the city
