Tsavo Lions #11

. . which contained the skeletal remains of hundreds of human victims; so many, in fact, that it had probably been used by man-eaters for centuries.
Lest anyone think that man-eating lions are something from the Nineteenth Century, in 1947, hunter Robert Foran killed four man-eaters in the Tsavo area that had run up a score of 50 souls. Professional hunter John Kingsley-Heath killed another man-eater there in 1965, and the boss of professional hunter/author Peter Capstick was killed and eaten by a lion not too far from Tsavo on Labor Day 1974. (Most of us can remember what we were doing in 1974!)
