From Paul Gutheil

*All I know is what I read in the papers:Sunday's Newark (NJ) Star Ledger:

(The oldest recorded age of an elephant). . . "In 2003 an elephant name Lin Wang died in a Taiwanese zoo at the age of 86."

Maybe you knew all this already, I just Googled him and it showed 93,600 hits.

"During my time with elephants the most common question asked was, how long they lived.
I would say, at 60 an elephant is very old and they were usually disappointed and I even overheard one person comment, "He doesn't know what he's talking about!"
So from then on I said "102" and everyone was happy."
