Angie is also a doll in person. I met her backstage after Perry Como's last Christmas Special, filmed in San Antonio, in '86. She's as stunning in person as she looks onscreen, and is very good with adoring fans. She also has quite a ferocious independent streak, which Ralph Edwards discovered when he pulled his famous surprise gag, telling her she was about to be the subject of THIS IS YOUR LIFE. She didn't like the surprise, did not feel honored, and refused to allow Edwards to continue the show. He was left standing without the episode. Another star highly offended by Edwards' ambush surprise was Ann Sheridan, who also stormed off in anger. I like 'em like that--gals with spirit.
