Yes Roger. That is the Cristiani Circus. I was supposed to only work in the flying act until "Rosie" Slick's sister got out of school. But the Cristiani family liked me in the act, so they paid my salary. I was not a flyer, but they taught me my first trick between shows. Feets across. Then they taught my next trick in the show. Cross hand crab across crab back. They referred to me as their one half hour flyer. I had done cloud swing on Dailey Bros. So this helped me with the timing and beat. All the people said if you could mount a Valatine board, you could mount any board. What helped me was I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't even know that all ladies put their hair up so they could see. I didn't know that so I let mine fly in the air. "Billy" put me off the board, and "Slick" caught me and sent me back to the board. All I had to do was give a hard beat and there I was. (God takes care of fools.) The only tough thing was I had to do both acts in the same costume, as I only had the clown walk around to take off my wrist bands and put on shoes to go running back into the ring with the Norma Cristiani five elephant act. It was rough but I loved it. Rex always wanted to be a catcher in a flying act. (He did later on, after we split.) I got $85.00 extra for the flying act. In those days that was a LOT OF MONEY......The reason for the horrible bathing suits costumes, was that was the only thing the show had that matched. (They were swinging ladder costumes.).....Barbara.....
