Gilda was the glamour queen of the Beatty show in my first year there. I would stand along Beatty's tunnel sometimes to catch acts I wanted to study. One day, Gilda came up with one of her toddlers, thrust him into my arms, and said, "You okay. You with Meester Beetee. You hold my boy", and went in to work her principal act. When she came out, she took the boy, smiled a dazzling smile no one could forget, and gave me a sweet pat on the cheek. So I took up my spot every day, and became a sometime unofficial babysitter for the Beatty show glamour queen.
There was a rather serious reason keeping Lucio from performing with his family name. The atmosphere around it was "don't ask", and it was never clear to me what was up.

It had to do with a debt to IRS
I'm pretty sure it was from the
failed United Nations Circus that
followed Cristiani Wallace
