Yup Wade nice of you to recall
These were 2 of the girls that
Dale brought with him to Vargas
Vanessa Thomas, Dione Parley(maybe), who was Arata when I arrived on Vargas. I don't know what her name was before Parley and another girl named Pam, who the girl's beefed with(hard to believe, but yes, show girls do beef) so she left after the first year. I think Pam was Mark Gebels tutor on Ringling prior.

a "few" functions for the Gebels
Dionne married Victor Arata who
had been married to Ingrid that
is now married to Roland Kaiser
1 of her daughters & her husband
are now running the Vargas show
Victor Arata & Frank Pealer were
comanaging the show when I was
out assisting in the conversion
to 1 ring format for Roland
Ingrid was babysitting Dione's
youngun with Victor (unique)
We were in a dustbowl adjacent
to a closed track in Goodyear
Katya is the daughter that married
Nelson Tabaras of the flying act
family that now run the show
After Dionne married Victor she
appointed herself large in charge
That's what caused many of the
beefs among the ladies according
to Dale's later accounts
I think Darlene dated Gene Simmons, not Pam. That is right, Pam Helliot

After Dale left the road he came
to live in Sarasota & he ran the
Walker Show office a few blocks
from my house & I saw him often
He also became the ShowFolks pres
Perhaps Darlene could share a few

"This Darlene is; Darlene Dicker who was a Ringling showgirl brought in by Antonette Concello in her years as aerial director. She would be one of some six that Wally Naughton would pirate to Vargas and become known as the "Vargettes". she would be involved with Arata and would finally marry Ben Williams and they would produce two daughters named Skye and Stormy."
Chic, either Dale was goofing on you, or you mind is playing trick's but Dionne was "large in charge" on Ringling and was brought to Vargas in the same capacity. I lived with Tracy Kim Mayo for 4 year's and can't even begin to print on this public forum, "the stories I heard." :) The Vargettes were quite the bee's knee's in California. Actually famous and well known enough to be offered a Playboy pictorial spread. Dale was quite the guy, and I think of him often.

John Milton, I don't believe Darlene was ever involved with Arata, if you were suggesting Victor. Unless you made a typo and intended to write "Estrada" as in Eric Estrada, in which case you would be correct. :) Sorry, Dar. I love you, but I couldn't let it go. John Milton just laid it out there for me. :) I hope you are well.

Gawd, you all are picking on me now... I auditioned just like every other dancer. Dione was the dance captain. I used to practice between shows with Lita and Judy guided by Antoinette Costello doing single trapeze and rings. We mostly practiced doing planges front and back and kips.or.muscle-ups. I so enjoyed spending time with Antoinette. I never went out with any KISS band member and can not see any of us doing that. By the time Dione was with Victor, I was gone with Ben. In fact Victor was advised by me to leave me alone, he kept getting into my face therefore I punched him in the nose and told Ingrid what happened and that she should take him home from the party. Nan, Tracy, and I were invited and went to the playboy mansion to swim and have lunch. Mr.Hefner was not even there. Yes, we kept our swim suits on the whole time. It was so beautiful there. We had a tour of the place. Also, I do not remember any of us having a beef with Pam. She was not Buffy' s teacher, she was friends with the Gebel Family.
Oh and too add to that,my first year on Circus Vargas, I had met and dated Eric Estrada from Chips. That lasted until his motorcycle accident and we went to the next town.
From what I knew, Wally Naughtin was instrumental in getting some girls to go to Circus Vargas. It was a blessed day to know that there were other circuses to continue working at with the job that I do loved. I told my Dad that I loved my job when he said why don't you come home, get married and have a family like normal people do...

Only correction Darlene is the
name Concello not Costello & yes
Pam was a GOOD friend of Gebel
