Jim Zajieck #1 (From Jimmy Hall)

Buckles,
Some sad news. Jim Zajicek passed away early morning on the 3rd of July. Lori said they will probably hold a send off for him in the fall in Hugo.
I know some of the shows Jim toured on; Franzen Bros, Culpepper Merriweather, Circus Vargas, Jody Jordan, Ed Migley circus and Sterling and Ried. He also worked for the Hawthorn Circus Corp and if memory serves me right, toured on shows in Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico for the Padillas.
This was all prior to his leap into the world of side shows. A relatively newcomer in this field, he grew fast into one of the nicer side show fronts and exhibits that I have seen.
My family considered him a dear, dear friend. He would spend a couple of weeks at our house for several years running, after his opening run with Crabtree Amusements.
We sure will miss him a lot.

I believe it's spelled Zajicek

This is a hard, hard loss to write/comment about. Just horrible. I can only echo James C. Hall's "a dear, dear friend", and quote Forrest Gump's "and that is all I have to say about that."

Jim was always with it and for it. He possessed a child's love of the circus and combined it with a zeal to separate a patron from their hard earned money. A truly great showman. He will be missed.
