From Eric Beheim #1

Some years ago, I received this die-cast toy truck as a gift. (It’s actually a bank, and there is a slot in the top of the trailer for depositing coins.) It was made by an outfit called ERTL, and measures about 11 ½ inches in length. (It looks like it is about the same scale as the old American Flyer electric train sets.) The fact that Clyde Beatty’s name is still included in the show’s title gives you some idea of how long ago this truck was made.

As many of you must know that

the central logo panel is from

either the letterhead or from

the route cards used many years

That title & logo stayed under

an arrangement with the Beatty

estate long after Beatty died

It was only somewhat recently

that Johnny Pugh became fed up

with the ever increasing demand

that he formed the "Branchwater

Productions" corporation & in

turn retitled the show's name

"Cole Bros Circus Of The Stars"

which remains to this day

We should all be very grateful

to this dynamo of a producer

The front panel however is very

similar to a design that was on

many trucks for years
