I saw it in Madison Wisconsin on August 30 that year on my way from a summer working in the library at Baraboo to graduate school in New York State. If I hadn't made it to the lot in Madison on my drive east, I would not have a perfect record of seeing the show every year from 1961-2014. I clearly remember talking to circus fan Sverre Braathen on the lot in a wheelchair. He is remembered as an avid photographer and collector, having obtained some of the old Ringling records from their winter quarters in the 1930s. The other half of those records, incidentally, were picked up by Baraboo Bill Kasiska. Braathen's stuff went to Illinois State University while Kasiska's was obtained by the Pfennings. Interesting note that both the
letterhead & this route card
show the same box number 1570
in Winter Park (the old office)
but 2 different zip codes (huh)
Back in the early 60s the mail
address was the Van Skike Bldg
on Orange Ave in Sarasota
