I know how you boys like to cut up, but for a minute here let's pay attention to this very rare and historically important newspaper ad for the first season ever of what was to become the Big One.
The Ringlings took on old Yankee Robinson to add his name and goodwill to their little unknown wagon show. Before the tour was over he left the show due to ill health and soon died. His name was later revived and used by circuses well. into the Twentieth Century.
The brothers continued and we know the rest of the story.

I like the descriptive title
"Arenic Exposition"
How much would that quarter be
worth nowadays
According to westegg.com, an inflation calculator, 25 cents in 1884 is about $6.40 in today's money.
On the other hand, a $15 bag of floss would be about 60 cents back then.
There are many inflation calculators on the internet and their estimates vary.

You'll never remember the dollars you spent here today...but you'll never forget what you got to see!
