Annie Oakley #31

Before signing off, there are some historical images of the real Buffalo Bill Cowboy Band. During a typical day, the band played for a street parade, did pre-show concerts before the start of each performance, and then played for the performances. (During an era when most bands worn military style uniforms, the Cowboy Band was noted for wearing attire based on what an American working cowboy wore.)

Some years ago the Americus Brass Band released WILD WEST MUSIC OF BUFFALO BILL’S COWBOY BAND, a CD of music that had actually been played by the Cowboy Band. Included with the CD are several booklets of information about Buffalo Bill, the music, and the Cowboy Band.
